Recently OOXML sneaked through the back doors as an ISO standard. Yielding to pressure strategies from Microsoft, ISO members voted for taking OOXML as a standard. There has been wide protests across the world against this as there is already an ISO standard for documents viz the Open Document Format. The free software users group in Trivandrum is also planning to show solidarity to the community across the world in this regard.

A few of us Gluggies met together at Zyxware today to chart out our POA for the document freedom campaign and also to discuss about the upcoming GLUG meet at Mar Baselios Engineering College this Friday. We discussed several options about the document freedom campaign but did not reach any decision. The different plans charted out was published in the mailing list to get general opinion about the options.

Tomorrow is going to be yet another very busy day - Anildeep's marriage, then I have the meeting at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School regarding the possibility of an Install fest at the school. In the evening I have to go to Stock Shop to look at the accounts and finalize accounts for 2007-08.
